A Sports Filled Weekend

How the heck is it already Monday?! I don't know about you, but this weekend flew by for me!! It's time for another Weekend Update...

Friday:

On Friday night, we headed up to Huntsville for the first UAH home game of the season. My brother is the assistant basketball coach at UAH so we go up there a lot during basketball season. If you know me and my husband, you know that we're slightly obsessed with the Chargers. Everyone is probably preparing themselves for the extreme amount of tweets and FB posts we're going to start making #sorryimnotsorry.

We also got to hang out with my parents, my sister-in-law and my niece (who just lost her first tooth!).

Snaggletooth

The Chargers won! They traveled to Manhattan, Kansas on Sunday morning to play in the NIT pre-season tournament this week. They're a pretty big deal because they're the only Division II team to ever be invited to play in the NIT pre-season tournament. I'm so proud of them and I hope they do well!!

Saturday:

We woke up bright and early on Saturday morning to head Tuscaloosa for the Alabama game. We were quite the sports fans this weekend! Thanks to William and Kat for letting us crash their tailgate. Even though Bama lost (booooo!), we still had a lot of fun!

Roll Tide Roll!

Ang and I were supposed to have another reunion at the Alabama game but she got sick so they didn't come up :( Such a sad day...no Ang AND Alabama lost!

Sunday:

I went to church, ate Friday Special at Taziki's for lunch and stayed to help out with youth group. As usual, we also did a few house things. We put up yet another door that we painted white--we still have to do some touch ups and paint another part of the door that goes over the glass, but at least it's up! Now we can use our ADT system and it will hopefully provide a little more insulation for the kitchen.

It's crazy how doing one little thing like putting a door back up makes such a difference! Dustin's granddad came over again to finish up his microwave job. A couple of weeks ago he mounted our microwave over the oven to give us more counter space. He took the cabinet doors home to re-size them and brought them back over today. He did such a great job!

They're not exactly from the same angle, but I think you get the idea. We have made so much progress in our kitchen--once we add some finishing touches, I'll show you a lot of before and after pictures.
